17 July, Johannesburg; Zimbabwean-born, South African based Rapper King 98 has dropped a brand new song titled Kachiri featuring Tanzania’s finest; Diamond Platnumz. The single is coupled with a stunning, well-styled music video shot in Tanzania, directed by Dir Kenny. Kachiri is a fun, sexy afrobeat song that will get you on your feet.
A perfect collaboration, Diamond Platnumz brings his signature Bongo, dance style with sass and quirkiness while King 98 shows off his flawless rap style. King 98 is excited to share his latest release with his fans and moreso to introduce his music to South African audiences. “I got to work with Diamond Platnumz, one of my favorite artists and someone I truly respect. Making this song was one of my life-changing experiences and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it, and the video is even better” commented the hip hop sensation.
Born and bred in Harare, Zimbabwe; King 98 whose real name is Ngonidzashe Dondo is here to claim his spot as one of Africa’s emerging talents, taking on the world. The young man has been making music for the last eight years and has shared the stage with the likes of Nasty C, Davido, Burna Boy and Alie Keyz.
His song No Bad Vibes with Davido cemented his presence in the music scene.
King 98 released his debut album Francesca, named after his mother and featured Nasty C, Nadia Nakai and Zlatvan Ibile from Nigeria among other artists. He has performed in various countries around the world including Australia, Zambia, Nigeria, Mozambique and was part of Nasty C’s Ivyson Tour, performing at numerous arenas across South Africa.
Diamond Platnumz is not stranger to South African audiences, with multiple awards to his name including a BET Africa award. He has worked with various acts in South Africa, the likes of Mafikizolo and Donald. His collaboration with King 98 comes as no surprise to his fans as he is known to celebrate African artists.
