Macaroni Cheese served with boiled fried chicken. Recipe
Stove-Top Macaroni Cheese
Ingredients
2 cups elbow macaroni
1⁄4 cup butter
1⁄4 cup flour
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
Pinch of black pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Method
Cook macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water until tender but not mushy, about 10-15 minutes. Drain well and pour into a large mixing bowl.
In medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour, salt and pepper; slowly add milk.
Cook and stir until bubbly.
Stir in cheese until melted.
Pour cheese sauce over the macaroni & stir to coat.
NB lf you wish to you can then transfer into a baking dish add grated cheese on top.
Bake until top crust is golden brown and casserole is bubbling, about 25 minutes.
Moist Vanilla Muffins
220g self raising flour
100ml milk
60ml oil
3/4 cup caster sugar
2eggs lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
150 g dried mixed fruit or chopped nuts
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius , grease and flour muffin pan or line with muffin cases
2. In a large bowl combine all ingredients with a wooden spoon add mixed fruit or nuts last if using
3. Spoon mixture into muffin pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes
*Do not over mix batter it will result in tough muffins *
Simple Black forest cake
1cup sugar
150g margarine
4 eggs
40g dark/cooking chocolate
Fresh cream /cooking oil
21/2 cups flour
4tsp baking powder
1/2 cup cocoa powder1cup milk
1 Cream sugar,margarine together until creamy
2 Melt chocolate,in cooking over a pot of boiling water
3 Whisk in the eggs to the creamed mixture
4 Add melted chocolate
5 Fold in flour
6 Add the milk & mix well
POUR INTO PREPARED TINS &BAKE @ 180degrees for 30min
Decorate with Cherry /blackforest filling & whipped Fresh cream
