The Heritage School 2017 Art Exhibition

The Heritage School officially opened its annual art exhibition in the school’s Apollo Hall under the theme “Integrating Images”.

The exhibition showcased different forms of high-quality artwork by children as young as 2 years old and aged up to 18 years old. Art forms on display ranged from breathtaking drawings, paintings in varied media, 3-dimensional models, t-shirt prints, batiks, music and dance. The opening night was at 5pm on Tuesday 6th June. The special guest artist was the well-renowned Ann Hamilton-King, who spoke on the importance of sustaining art education in schools. In her opening speech, she expounded on how art is being used as a form of therapy, and that she herself was currently working with numerous organisations to provide art therapy to a number of people who suffer from different ailments. This type of therapy has shown positive results. The exhibition was open all week and the school was a hive of activity as many schools, parents, and members of the public visited the school to enjoy the exhibition.
