On September 3, 2017, Anna Fleming of The Verandah Gallery organised its 26th annual fundraising exhibition in support of the Emerald Hill Children’s Home and the Emerald Hill School for the Deaf. Anna initiated this exhibition in her private home in 1992 and it has grown tremendously in popularity over the years.
The artistic talent in Zimbabwe is AMAZING! It was a bright, sunny spring day and over 700 art fans came out to enjoy the exhibition, the ice cream and The Wine Bar. This was the first year they had scrap metal sculptures on display, and these charming creations did not disappoint.
The Emerald Hill Children’s Home houses over 100 orphans and abandoned or abused children. The Emerald Hill School for the Deaf has over 300 students with hearing disabilities or impairment. The annual art exhibition contributes much-needed funds to these worthy and admirable institutions.
