Harare 13 April 2023, The 2023 FBC Zimbabwe Open Championship lives to its billing as it draws participation of top golf professionals, support staff as well as foreign media to the country’s lush green golfing facilities at Royal Golf Club in Harare.
This year’s event is bigger and better showcasing not only outstanding golfing celebration, but also an amazing line-up. Speaking at the launch, Martin Chikwana President Zimbabwe Golf Association, said the event enabled attendees to grow their networks and establish new acquaintances while also enjoying the beauty of Zimbabwe.
“I would first like to extend a huge thank you to our major sponsors, FBC Bank and all its Associate sponsors OK Zimbabwe, Anchor Sponsors; Golden Pilsener, Tongaat Huletts, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Technology partner as well as all our Official Partners in Cimas, Speed link Cargo, Zuva Petroleum, Croco Motors and African Sun Hotels for their support in making this event possible. “Without their generous support, we would not be able to host such a prestigious event. It’s important to mention that all if not most of these companies have been part of this journey in good and bad times, we indeed appreciate you,” he said. “For those of you who are joining us for the first time, the Zimbabwe Golf Open Championship is a celebration of the sport of golf, uniting professionals, Amateurs and enthusiasts from around the world to test their skills on our beautiful greens at Royal Harare. It is an incredible opportunity for us to showcase the beauty of Zimbabwe and its finest golfing facilities.” Chikwana said ZGA in hosting the event, provided an opportunity for the budding young golfers to look up to and watch their heroes in battle hoping one day they would emulate them.
