Welcome to Issue 6 of Harare Magazine!

One of my favourite fashion designers, Lilly Pulitzer, is famous for saying, “Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring!” Well said, Lilly! Like many of her designs, colour is bursting forth outside, from the rich hues of the Msasa leaves and the Miomba woodlands to the cheerful lavender budding on the Jacarandas, the signature stamp of springtime in Harare. Spring is here and there just seems to be an extra skip to everyone’s stride with the promise of a new season.

Things have been busy at Harare Magazine this month. This will be the first issue that we will be selling in retail outlets. To all our valued readers, please see our Subscribe page, or sign up for our mailing list to subscribe at a discount. To all of our valued sponsors and advertisers, thank you for your much-appreciated support.

In this issue, we are so honoured to have the gifted Jah Prayzah on our cover! We had such fun chatting with him about what he has been up to. He is a fabulous inspiration to so many and has certainly made his country proud.

Thank you to our lead sponsor, the Chibuku Road to Fame programme, which promotes and supports upcoming talent.

We have an exciting few weeks of articles for you. Our Personality of the Month is the esteemed Barbara Mzembi. She has shared her story and journey with us, and it is truly awesome. Barbara has worked tirelessly to make the MTZ beauty pageant and the Girl Child campaign huge successes.

Our clever fashion editor has given us some insider info on what designs we should be stepping out in this spring, and Kelli Barker shows off her skills as a highly talented makeup artist.

The incredible community and charity works that are currently going on in Harare never cease to amaze. The Verandah Gallery annual art and metal works exhibition was a resounding success in support of the Emerald Hill Children’s Home and School for the Deaf. The Miracle Missions “Pass On The Kindness” campaign is aimed at helping rural school children get a leg up, and Nigel Philp has personally pioneered the Chisipite Art Roundabout project to showcase local artists.

Without doubt, Zimbabwe is full of real winners, and this issue acknowledges and applauds all that talent out there. Enjoy the magazine!
